Why are Scottish men sexy?

It was intended to be a day of leisurely sightseeing. In the morning, we visited a whisky distillery, then had lunch at a historic mill before returning to our 13th-century castle accomodation in the evening. We knew it was going to be a fantastic journey the instant we saw our Scottish busdriver.

"Is this Hollywood movie star really our bus driver?" my female friend on our bus wonders. Someone another inquires, "Is he married?"

To picture our bus driver is to imagine all of Scotland in one person. Dark-blue tartan kilt, twine-bound woolen knee breeches, silver sword tucked into the top of his hose, and leather sporran slung across his hips. He had goateed blond hair and a lilting accent sprinkled with "ayes." Even his corporate polo shirt appears hot. Mel Gibson is more Liam Neeson than Mel Gibson. His eyes are as bright as a puppy on a leash.

"Would you like to go to the Highlands?" he inquires. You are yee. Go is a verb.

"We could goo up to the Highlands tomorra mornin', if yeed leek," he goes on to say. "Weeell have to leave a little early, but we'll be back in time for lunch." It's so close that I can't believe it's not on your itinerary."

We, too, can't believe it. Later, he informs us that he has traveled the world with his bagpipes in his rucksack, and that he is likely the only Scotsman who has piped in Salzburg, Sydney, and everywhere in between. This information certainly adds to the romantic notion that most women have of Scottish guys.

Braveheart

Many women over the world appear to be obsessed with Scottish guys as the ultimate love hero. What they appear to be envisioning is someone akin to Mel Gibson's portrayal of Wallace in Braveheart: the son of a wild, beautiful, tempestuous, and untamed land steeped in romantic history, independent, hardy, and ready to take on - and vanquish - anyone who threatens his nation or his 'wummin'… Darling Mel had women everywhere wishing for their very own Highlander!

James Bond

Bond, James Bond, is another outstanding Scottish example of competence and charm. By the way he walks, moves, and looks, he wears sex appeal like a second skin, making it impossible for women not to notice him sexually. Commander Bond is clearly a Scot in Sean Connery's famous portrayal… And when he opens his mouth, he has this gorgeous brogue - rugged and masculine, like chocolate for the ears!

Men in kilts

Speaking of Sean Connery, his Friends of Scotland charity hosts Dressed to Kilt, the world's most prestigious Scottish fashion show, which starts off Tartan Week in New York each year. The non-profit organization promotes Scotland in the United States through fashion shows using tartans and kilts.

Do women find males in kilts appealing? You can bet your life they do and wonder what might or might not lie beneath! In modern parlance, not wearing anything below the kilt is known as going "Commando" or "Regimental," both of which have their origins in military tradition.
