10 Reasons You Should Move to Glasgow Scotland
If you're considering about coming to Scotland but can't decide where to live, here are ten reasons you might consider Glasgow.
Friendly People - People Make Glasgow.
One of Glasgow's mantras is "People Make Glasgow," which is entirely right. People are nice all around Scotland, but there is something unique about the people of Glasgow.
If you're in the pub, watching a football game, or need assistance finding a spot in the city, you'll have no trouble finding someone prepared to help in Glasgow.
It is really easy to meet new friends in Scotland, and Glaswegians make it even easier.
Glasgow is less touristy.
As much as I enjoy visiting tourist attractions and destinations, it may be challenging to navigate the continual crowds while attempting to go about your daily life.
One of the most common problems my coworkers and friends who lived in Edinburgh had was coping with the influx of visitors to the city each year during the Festival Fringe.
Glasgow remains a busy and excellent tourist destination, but life will be less disrupted by the mayhem of people visiting larger cities in Scotland.
Glasgow is the place for live music.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of living in Glasgow is the live music scene. There are so many excellent bands playing in Glasgow.
It's not just live bands; my fave American comedians, the Impractical Jokers, performed at the SSE Hydro. Other outstanding venues are the O2 Academy, Classic Grand, Garage, and Cathouse Rock Club.
I've spent many nights in Glasgow seeing some of my favorite bands. Whatever type of music you enjoy, Glasgow provides live music concerts for everyone.
Glasgow has an amazing nightlife!
Glasgow is famed for its fantastic nightlife. The Scottish city is brimming with clubs, bars, and live music places that will make any night enjoyable.
Super Bario is one of my favourite pubs, as it has a large selection of old arcade games to play. Another excellent alternative and subterranean bar is The Flying Duck, where you may play board games while eating vegan meals.
Glasgow offers a lower cost of living.
Glasgow is a large city that is affordable to live in. Housing costs are much lower than in Scotland's main city, Edinburgh.
Some areas of town, such as Glasgow's West End, are slightly more expensive. Overall, living in Glasgow will cost you a lot less.
Remember, much like when looking for a flat in Edinburgh, you should be informed of the council tax payments before committing to a place to live.
Glasgow has a spectacular arts and culture scene.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of living in Scotland is the art, culture, and museums. Glasgow is no stranger to great artwork. You must visit Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, the Glasgow Necropolis, and walk along the Glasgow City Centre Mural Trail.
Black Lives Matter in Glasgow.
Following the Black Lives Matter riots that triggered global change in 2020, Glasgow was one of the first Scottish cities to acknowledge Scotland's slavery heritage.
You can learn more about the history of slavery in Scotland by visiting Glasgow Museums and Collections' Legacies of Slavery exhibit. It is also worth noting that some people in Glasgow are attempting to develop a new institution named the Museum of Black Heritage.
There are numerous Black-owned businesses in Glasgow that you may support, like Bantaba Afro Caribbean Restaurant and Akara Bakery. Do you have any favourite businesses that I haven't mentioned? Please let me know in the comments below!
